Merchan Capital, S.L. was founded in Córdoba, Spain, providing business management consultancy and advisory services to companies and individuals. We work closely with each client, drawing on a network of qualified professionals to deliver practical, well-governed solutions.

Founded by Rafael Paniagua Merchán, Sole Director, the firm is committed to transparency and long-term relationships.

With over 30 years of international leadership experience — as CEO, Chairman and board member across the power, automation and manufacturing sectors — Rafael combines deep operating expertise with a focused practice in corporate governance and executive coaching.

He currently serves as CEO of FERSA Group, Chairman of the Board of Doloop, and Member of the Board of Directors of Jungle, an ecosystem of creative companies. He is also co-founder of Nexus Governance Partners, a corporate governance advisory firm, and a certified executive coach, having partnered with CEO Coaching International to help leaders and teams elevate their performance.

Previously President & CEO of ABB Brazil, he led operations generating over USD 1 billion in annual revenue with a team of 4,000 people. He holds an MBA from the University of Sheffield, an MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Seville, and has completed executive programs at IESE Business School and Harvard Business School. Fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
